WHAT TO DO BEFORE YOUR CHILD STARTS NURSERY

Contact the nursery to ask for a prospectus, registration and application. To really get a feel for the nursery, we recommend arranging a first visit. Further shorter visits can also be arranged with the Nursery Manager prior to your child's start date.

A home visit will be offered to help ease the transition into nursery. This is an opportunity for nursery staff to meet parents / carers and children in a relaxed and familiar environment prior to their start date. Staff use the information gathered during the visit to plan for each child's needs when they begin their settling in sessions at the nursery, enabling each child's key person to make the necessary adaptations to the environment and planning ensuring the needs of all children are being met.

Please ensure they always bring a named water bottle and a pump bag with a set of spare clothes.

As outdoor play is very important to a child's development we have daily outdoor experiences whatever the weather, therefore in cold weather ensure your child has a hat, gloves, scarf and wellies/outdoor shoes and in warm weather they have a sun hat and suncream.
